Meet Lucas Grant
Since being with the Criminal Investigation Division/Homicide Division I have one of the highest arrest rates, conviction rates, and solvability rates. When the first gang unit was deployed, our unit dismantled many known and unknown gangs in the community to improve safety for our citizens. I have attended many town hall meetings to engage with our community. I have built many strong relationships through my work ethic with many families for the efforts I put into my team and career.
Now, for my backstory…as a young boy I grew up getting the chance to see my grandfather have a career in law enforcement. He was a great role model and helped so many. I told my mother that I wanted to become an officer one day. I was raised in the church where I joined Second Providence Baptist Church at a young age. I sang in the Melissa James Choir and the Mass Choir. I also served as an usher in my church family and today I serve as a trustee.
I attended Aiken County Schools and graduated from North Augusta High School in 2002. I was blessed to play many sports growing up, but one (football) that taught me many things helping mold me into the Servant Leader I am today. I graduated from Newberry College with a Bachelor’s in Science.
My wife Adrienne and I are blessed to have three beautiful daughters: Jasmine (15), Jordyn (13), & Jayda (5). All talented young ladies that we love dearly. Jasmine and Jordyn both play school softball and travel softball. Jada got her first action in coed T-ball. In my career, I made no excuses when it comes to my family. I’ve managed my time wisely in my career and as a father. I became a volunteer recreational softball coach in 2019 to begin giving back to my community & impacting our youth in the Aiken County community . In 2020 I was given a great opportunity to coach a travel softball team (Carolina Dynamite). As a coach it has been a great way continuing to touch lives in a positive way while winning many championships with these talented young athletes.
I love hunting and fishing with my father and brother. I learned in my adulthood after the passing of my father of the powerful message of being out on the water. It’s a place where my thoughts get to run free, swift, & deep.

Became the Sole Homicide Investigator

Created the “Unspoken Gift” Program
This program was developed to build bonds and relationships with families that lost a loved one to homicide. The program started with 2 children and has grown to almost 30 with the help of partnerships.
2020
Promoted to the rank of Sergeant in Homicide
2021
Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant
This was within the Community Services Division & became a Division Commander on the Command Staff
2021
Began the “Delightful Harvest” Program
This program is designed to provide thanksgiving food boxes to less fortunate families who have come in contact with law enforcement due bad choices they made. In result we want them to understand we are still here to help them and engage with them so these decisions don’t happen again. We also started “Popsicle with a Cop”. Giving our offices the chance to engage with our youth in a positive way.

Recieved a degree in “School of Police Staff & Command”
